Tascam Blu-ray and media players have been designed as a professional level multimedia playback solutions for touring and installation applications.
BD-MP1mkII is a 1U rack-mounting Blu-ray player incorporating support for DVD, CD, SD card, and USB flash media. The media player can be controlled remotely via LAN, RS-232C or via the included infrared remote control. Useful functionality including a ‘resume’ feature to continue after power cycle; a 10-second instant replay feature; and a panel/tray/IR remote lock function.
Along with an LCD display, the front panel presents all control functionality including a 'guarded' power on/off push switch, open/close and lock button, and transport buttons including play, pause, skip, and menu navigation buttons. To navigate the menu, the transport buttons are used in conjunction with the 'shift' button. Both SD card slot and USB flash drive inputs are also situated on the front panel, with the maximum compatible SD card supported being 512GB SDXC. The rear facing panel of the BD-MP1mkII houses all other I/O connectivity including L/R unbalanced analogue outputs on RCA (phono) connections; L/R balanced main outputs via two 3-pin XLRs; 7.1 outputs on unbalanced RCA (phono) connections, and a 75ohm digital coaxial output on RCA (phono). The analogue audio output is changed from Down-mix to front left and right when speaker settings are configured for 2-channel. When digital output on coaxial is selected, the output is Down-mix audio. In addition to the audio outputs, the is a single 19-pin, type A HDMI output, a second USB flash drive input that can also be used for firmware updates, a RJ45 Ethernet connection, and a RS-232C connection. An IEC power inlet allows connection to AC mains power.

Much like the BD-MP1mkII, BD-MP4K has the ability to support Blu-ray, DVD, CD, SD card, and USB flash media. The main difference is that this player is compatible with 4K UHD from Blu-ray discs.
The front facing panel of the 1U rackmount Blu-ray player has stop, play, pause, and skip transport buttons which double as menu navigation and selection buttons. The power button is located to the left side of the media player and has raised safety bumpers to avoid accidental press. A single green LED identifies power on. Under the power switch a single SD card slot with push eject allows additional media to be used. The disc drawer has an associated open/close button. Finally, a screen illustrates media in use, playback status, and menus.
