Canford plastic cable tray relaunched

Canford has  announced the relaunch of their plastic cable trays. These tough utilitarian  products are Canford designed and provide many advantages over the more traditional  steel offerings not the least of which being their lighter weight and ease of  cutting to appropriate lengths.

The ease of  deployment cannot be stressed enough. Trays can be cut with an ordinary saw,  holes can be drilled with ordinary hand drills, and no sharp edges are left  after cutting.

The cable  trays are slot-punched and manufactured to Canford specs from a tough, rigid,  unplasticised grey PVC, self-extinguishing and non-flammable for all practical  purposes. They provide a very economical and completely non-corrodible system  for cable installations.

The trays  come in 2 metre lengths, which after research, has been identified as the  optimal length to provide minimal wastage. They are available in a choice of  two widths 105mm and 180mm.  Tray height is 17mm and thickness is approximately 2.8mm.

The slots  in the trays mean they can be screwed straight to the ceiling or wall etc with  ample adjustment built in, but Canford also supply cable tray  brackets in a variety of sizes as an alternate means of secure fixing.

Don't  forget, Canford provide perhaps the widest range of cable accessories available from one source. These include binding, sleeving, cable markers, trunking, cable drums and trolleys and tools. Not the least of these is the humble, but extremely necessary cable tie. Not content  with offering just one or two alternatives, Canford provide a variety of  lengths and types suitable for all cable types including the clever Millipede Milli Tie which is a  quick cable tie solution that prevents over tightening to cables that are very  sensitive to crushing such as HD and SD types.

For those working with cables for HDTV, we have provided a technical guide discussing the  critical areas of selection, management, termination and deployment of gas  filled dielectric cable types. The article is called 'Coaxial  cables for digital video'.
