    Canford launches new fibre transport system

    Canford launched a fibre optic multiplexing transport system at IBC. The device can multiplex up to eight 3G/HD/SDI signals into a single SM (single mode) optical fibre as standard and up to 16 when two systems are linked. The effect is to simplify and extend cable runs whilst simultaneously reducing costs. The system has already been deployed in major broadcasting events including the London Olympics.

    Canford is proud to introduce the New 2 x 32 way MUSA HD 3Gb/s Video Patch Panels which exceed the SMPTE292M and SMPTE424M standards. Featuring Canford’s proven full size HD MUSA connectors and 1U ‘U’ links, it is now possible to match router channel multiples of 32 in a 1U package. The 32 way panels retain the rugged extruded panel design used on 20, 24 and 26 way versions, with snap on designation strips and adjustable lacing bars as standard.
