Based on the Canford Universal Connection Panel series, these half rack-width multipurpose connection panels offer an almost infinite number of configurations. The 'Universal Connection System' allows a wide range of connectors and switches, with the Neutrik 'D' series housing, or the Canford 'Universal' series connectors, to be assembled by the user in a single panel without special metalwork.
Panels
Panels may be attached to any half rack-width equipment fitted with mounting flanges using optional joining plates or mounted in Canford half-rack rack boxes. See Canford Rackbox - Wall racks, steel.
Manufactured from lightweight but extremely rigid aluminium extrusions, available in 1U, 2U and 3U heights with one row of seven 'universal' cutouts per U, they are finished in dawn grey, dark grey and black and are supplied complete with a lacing bar and designation strip per connector row.
Included accessories: M3 screws, nuts and shakeproof washers for mounting connectors are supplied with each panel.
Joining Plates
Half-rack joining plates, punched to accept two columns of standard cage nuts, locate behind the blank panel and adjacent equipment or panels fitted with mounting flanges. Plates are manufactured from 14 gauge (2.0mm) steel strip and finished in clear passivated zinc plate. Joining plates must be ordered separately.
Application Note:
- M3 tapped mounting frames, (40-790), are not suitable for use with the universal connection panels.
- Panels are supplied complete with M3 screws, nuts and shakeproof washers for connector fixing.
